POKEY CARTOON! IS CHILDRENS EDUCATIONAL AN PENGUIN THE
DADA POKEY is a Twitter bot that generates new POKEY THE PENGUIN comics by randomly assembling panels from the original comics in an SVG image. It reproduces the function of the original DADA POKEY, a project by Leonard Richardson.
In addition to generating comics, this bot also generates titles for them, using Cheap Markovs, Traced Quick! trained on the titles of original POKEY comics. DADA POKEY bot runs in Tracery on Cheap Bots, Done Quick!, and was written by Serin Delaunay. A Python script using Leonard Richardson’s Beautiful Soup was used to gather the list of original comic panels and format them for Tracery.
